SENTOSA PARK, MACLEAY ISLAND
Sentosa Park is a newly aquired park on Macleay Island. It is now host to a large dead Eucalypt which is of high habitat value. As part of the Masterplanning process the tree has been risk assessed and the design of the park takes this into account.
The preliminary landscape concept for this Local park proposes the following:-
-A childrens playground;
-Minimal height reduction of the dead Eucalypt to enable the safer use of the park and the provision of an exclusion zone around the tree to further reduce risk;
-Areas to sit and contemplate;
-Treatment of swales with appropriate planting;
-An equitable circulation system.
